Sentell, Willia Dean Gravley (Summerville) - The Chattanoogan

A native of Chattooga County, She was born to the late Gene and Winnell Everett Gravley, on June 7, 1932. Mrs. Sentell was a member of the Four Mile Baptist Church and was retired from the cloth room of Mount Vernon Mills and Summerville Middle School. Surviving are her children, Shelia (Buddy) Gentry, Mike (Amy) Morrison, and Mark (Melody) Sentell; father of her children, Alvin Sentell; grandkids, Kandy (Richard) Craig, Jeremy Guinn, Preston Morrison, Keith (Rhiannon) Morrison, Alex Sentell, Mackenize Morrison, Jaden Morrison, Jackson Morrison; great-grandkids, Ethan (Olivia) Nixon, Stella Morrison, Ashby Morrison, Aubry Morrison, Justin Craig, Douglas Craig; great-great-grandchild, Sawyer Craig; special nephew, Ryan Gravley; special first cousin, Patty Walley; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 2:30 p.m. from the Four Mile Baptist Church with Rev. Doyle Kelly and Rev. Joel Smith officiating, interment in Johnson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ethan Nixon, Alex Sentell, Keith Morrison, Mackenizie Morrison, Jackson Morrison, Jeremy Guinn, Kaleb Craig, Ryan Gravley, and Preston Morrison. Honorary pallbearers are members of Four Mile Baptist Church, and staff of Oakview Nursing & Rehab Center. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 1-2:30 p.m. at the church. Mrs. Durham was a lifetime resident of Chattooga County, was born on Nov. 1, 1927, to the late Hugh Roy and Ella Anderson Riley. She was a member of Bethel Memorial Baptist Church of LaFayette, was retired from the inspecting department of Georgia Glove, and was preceded in death by her husband, the late Howard Burton Durham on Dec. 22, 2001. Fleming, age 98, of Trion, Georgia, died on February 12, 2019, at Redmond Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. She was born on April 27, 1920, in Broomtown, Al., to the late George Milton and Maggie Addle Barclay Tallent. She was a member of Trion First Baptist Church and attended from 1954 to 2017, when her health began to decline. During her years at the church, she served in many of the children's ministries including Nursery, Beginner Class Sunday School teacher, Primary Class Sunbeams, and Youth Choir volunteer. She was also a member of the WMU and was a member of the Mary Neil Circle. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Fleming, who died on Jan. 31, 1989. Surviving are her two children, Cheryl Fleming DeMenna and husband, Robert, of Mableton, Ga. and James Dale (Jim) Fleming and wife, Allison, of Carrollton, Ga.; grandchildren, Mandi Griffin and husband Chad of Dallas, Ga., Brandon Fleming and wife Brigida of Mountain Home, Id., Adam Fleming and wife Megan of Nabb, In., and David Fleming of Carrollton, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Alexandra de Leon, Michael Harmon, Cody Griffin, Kristyna Griffin, Ryleigh Griffin, Gunner Griffin, Jonathan Fleming, Maddy Grace Fleming; and one great-great-grandchild, Sophia de Leon. Visitation is on Saturday, Feb. 16, from 1-3 p.m. at Rainwater Funeral Home in Summerville. A brief service will follow, with Pastor Casey Bramlett and Pastor Mike Woods officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Memory Garden. Active pallbearers are Brandon Fleming, Adam Fleming, Christopher Tallent, Chad Griffin, Ben Huggins, and Steve Tallent.
